London, May 25. By beating 38-year-old Dr. William Tweddell by one hole in the final of the British Amateur Golf Champion- ship at St. Annes to-day, W. Laws Little holds the distinction of being

the first American to win the title twice. lo captured it for the first

time last year.

Little is the third player to have won the competition two years run- ning, only Harold Hilton, in 1900 and 1901, and Horace Hutchison, in 1886 and 1887, having accomplished the fent before.

The young San Francisco player had to fight very hard to beat Tweddell, who almost collapsed owing to the strain, on the Inst green, and was assisted to the club-house,
