A considerable amount "spade work" has been accom- plished by Mr. W. J. Carrie in connection with the formation of the Hongkong Travel Association and the "Brighter Hongkong" movement.

Mr. Carrie recently returned to the Colony after being away for four weeks, during which period he attended the Oriental Tourist Conference held in Tokyo at the beginning of the current month as representative of the Hong- kong Travel Association.
