SILKSTONE AND LUZ TO MEET

PROGRAMME FOR TO-DAY

(By. "Sagax")

A. E. Silkstone and R. F. Luz will provide the attraction in the lawn bowls singles championship this afternoon when they meet on the Kowloon Bowling Green Club,

The Cruigengewer player and for- mer Club de Recreio representative will not need me to remind him of a former meeting with Silkstone some years back. He is still probably try- ing to live down that match, and even if he wins to-day he will derive sinall compensation for a 21-3 defent.

I don't intend to go into the whys and wherefores of that match but sufficient to say that in that year. (1031) Silkstone was playing parti. cularly good bowls and previous to ne had eliminatel defenting Luz A. M. Holland.

Last season both Milkstone and Latz were eliminated in their first matches in the competition, the former by H. A. Alves in the second round, after having drawn a bye in the first. and the latter by U. M. Omax in the Brst round,

GLASGOW SIDE PERFORM DOUBLE IN SOUND FASHION

Edinburgh, Apr. 22,

The Rangers completed the "double event” again in sound fashion. Their recent records make them a model of football consistency, and in the Cup final against Hamilton Academicals they played as expected-steadily and strongly-without quite reaching top form.

Their opponents made a good fight: of it, and though a draw would have) been no great injustice to the Ibrox) men, the Academicals never looked likej winning. The Rangers were never actually called to show the great recovery power ihn they undoubtedly possess. What a pity the Academi- enls did not get the first goal!

Yet it was good hard struggle: under adverse conditions, without be! ing up to the standard of the Rangers-

"Gee, I'm happy!"

That was the remark made to me at the Tally Ho! tournament Birmingham to-day, by Senorita Anita Lízana, the girl from Chile-now known as the Pavlova of the courts-who has so suddenly become a name in big lawn tennis..
