The Play West's opening lead was king of hearts, which South trumped with the deuce of spades. Declarer has a losing diamond and chance a losing club. The only to make the hand is to and the club honours split and to execute a strip and end play.

Let's see what has to be done to make this play. All hearts have to be trumped and still a trump must be. retained in dummy. Therefore, declarer. needs two trump entries in his partner's hand. The only way this can be accomplished is to finesse the ten of spades.

The general rule says, “Never fincase with 10 trumps." But that is your only chance to make the hand.

Luckily for declarer, the spade ten held, so a small heart was ruffed with the five of spades. Another trump was played, dummy winning with the ace of spades.. Another heart was ruffed with, the eight of spades. .
