Rome, May 7.

More than ever, there is danger of a clash between Italy and Ethiopia. In face of the situation in Abyssinia, the Fascist Government can no longer delay action, warned the Under-Secretary for the Colonies, addressing the Chamber of Deputies to-day.

It is necessary, he said, to face the question and solve it once and for all. The problem of Italy's re- lationship with Abyssinia was pressing, he insisted.

A crowded House heard Signor Lessona, the Under-Secretary, in an atmosphere of tense excitement which has prevailed since the announcement of new

Signor Lassons charged Abyssinin with violation of the Italo-Abyssinia Treaty of friendship. He said that satisfaction had been afforded in only

House Silverites, who are dissatisfied with the progress of the silver purchase programme, have pre- pared a petition which, if signed by 217 members, would take the 16/1 Silver Coinage Bilt from the Committee, for consideration by the Houso. However, prospects of getting the necessary signatures are considered dim. Meanwhile, speculation is general as to whether the Secretary of the Treasury, Mr. Morgenthau will present some definite statement of the Government's course when addressing the country by radio on Mon- day night on the subject of the "American Dollar."
