In the challenge round of the Colony's tennis championship, Mr. H. A. Nisbet defeated Mr. S. E. Green by three sets to one, and won the cup outright.
In a Sanitary Board election, Mr P. W. Goldrlug, solicitor, was returned, pollire 142 votes inst 33 enst for Mr. W. L. Carter, manager of the Telephone Com- pany.

ROYAL ACADEMY PICTURE OF MR. QUO TAI-CHI
London, May. 2.
A feature of the Royal Academy exhibition, the private view of which is to-morrow, is a protrait of Mr. Que Tai-chi, Chinese Minis- ter to London, seated, and wear- ing a bronze silk gown.
The picture is by a young artist, Mr. Kenneth Green, who was re- commended to Mr. Quo Tal-chi by an Oxford Professor.
The picture, which is an ad- mirable likeness was submitted in the ordinary way to the Hang- Ing Commitico, who consider it a very fine work..
It is believed to be the first portrait of a · Chinese · Minister to Great Britain over to be exhibited at Burlington House.-Renter
