D. G. Freshwater achieved the best performance of his career when he beat E. D. Andrews, the New Zealand Davla Cup player, by 0—0, 2—6, 12-10 in the men's singles in the egvered court open tournament at Queen's Club, West Kensington, W., last month.

Andrews has a good record of wins ngainst some of the best players in the world, and it in rare that he lones a match from a long bad as he lid.
