STRANGE CATCH BY SWATOW FISHER

Swatow, Apr. 14. Strange fish stories have always come from Kwanglung's coastal towns and the following is Intest from Swatow.

the

A fishing boat in the vicinity of Swatow, according to a vernacular press report, caught a fish from the sea which possessed face bear- ing a close resemblance to that of a beautiful woman,, except that instead of two eyes, it had three. The creature weighs fifteen cattles and is two feet long, standing on four feet. As the flah was brought to the market and exhibited thero it attracted, a large crowd of vilingers who immediately came to the conclusion that it was a "sea devil." The story mentions that while the strange looking fish was epidemic of on exhibition an "mysterious" sickness broke out in the village taking a heavy toll of lives. Subsequently charity organisation bought the fish from the fisherman for $12 and put it back to the sea. The epidemic is stated to have "gone with the fish" and the village is again in peace Reuter.
