In the hands of such petent choir and sympathetic soloists the work lest none of its magnificence and beauty. Sovoral of Mendelssohn's passnges in this oratorio are the most emotional compositions in all of the many. sacred cantatas. To obtain their full meaning and to reveal their profound muscianship demands a technique and quality of singing of the highest degree.
