remarkably good studies. were seen at the third annual ex- hibition and computition held by the Wah Yan College Amateur Photo- graphie Club yesterday.. The exhibits were by no means "amateirish" and proved that the members of the club are well up In the art of photo graphy,

The entries were divided into sev eral sections, nanicly portraiture, Tandscape, story-wling, and notiout activities. The dificult task of Judg Ing was done by Me, H. Lucer, of Messrs. Deng, Agľa Ltd., and Mr. Y. K. June, of D'Àsis and Company, The decisions being based upon sub Ject-appent, componition, and tech- nique.

A silver cup, for the beat collec- tion of photographs, was won by Ng Sul-cheong, whog entries won two second places and four third places, Chu Wang-ip won a silver cup for The best pleture. In the exhibition, and a silver cup, for the best pori Crnit.

Detailed results were as follow: Best Picture-1, Chu Wang-ip. Best Portrait, Cha Wang-ip. Best Story Telling Picture. Ham Keng-yuen.

up to-dug,

Many were struck down by ex- ploding shell fragments and car- trkiges.

Three terrific explosions wero heard, followed by a fire which swept over a large area and de- troyed a number of buildings.

The military authorities are Investigating the explosion, but the enuse is so far unknown-Reuter.
