His present trip is for the purpose of familiarizing himself with recent and continuing changes in Asia.

Dr. La Gorce has been an official of the National Geographie Society for more than a quarter of a cen- tury. With Dr. Gilbert Grosvenor, President, he hns bullt tho organization during this period into the largest scientific and educational society in the world. Nearly a million members are now on the rolls of the organization.
