DEFENCE COUNSEL CHANGED

EDWARD REILLY DISPLACED

Trenton, Feb. 19.

Bruno Hauptmann, condemned to die for the murder of tho Lindborgh· baby, has rebelled against the chief of his counsel, Mr. Edward Reilly, one of the foremost criminal lawyers in the United States.

Hauptmann has revolted to the extent of making his second counsel, Mr. Floyd Fisher, leader of his defence campaign.

Mr. Reilly had earlier announced that all moves in respect to appeal had been indefinitely post- poned, and at a coneultation with junior counsel would, give reason for this action.

Mr. Fishor was so enraged at the attitude of Mr. Rellly that ho approached Hauptmann at onco and urged that he be given full -charge of the case.

"I cannot conceive why anyone would wish to adjourn the appeal when the man la scheduled to die In four weeks' time." Bald Mr. Fisher.

R.A.F. ACCIDENT NEAR MIRS BAY

Flight Lieut. H. H. Leech, R.A.F. had a narrow escape from Injury yesterday morning, when he was forced to bring his plane. down on the foreshore at Fung Bay, while flying over the promkan tory on the western entrance to Mirs Bay.
