The Pins

West's opening lend was the jack uf hearts. Of course, the declarer couldn't take the finesse, but had to go up with the rive. He could see that he had two losing tricks, a spade and a clubs. If the hearts were divided 4-3, and hê could drop} the king of hearts, two good tricks could be established.

So the declarer played a smal heart from dummy. East went in with the king and South trumped with the three of diamonds. Now, of course, it looked as if the dis tribution in hearts was bad.
