REPRIEVE

For the first time for more than -eight years, a woman was exeented in England recently. She was Mrs. Ethel Lille, Major (42), who was sentenced to death far polsoning her husband' with strychnine. The sentence was carried out at Hull, Pelsan.

The execution took place at 9 a.m., in accordance with the arrange- ments carried out by the prison authorities.

The inquest on Mrs. Major was held later in the morning by the Hull Coroner, Dr. J. Divine, when the jury, who did not view the body, returned a verdict of "Death by judicial hanging."
