HAVE YOU EVER CONSIDERED HOW MUCH A RADIO SET REALLY COSTS YOU?

In reckoning up these charges you must not only take Irite consideration the initial cost of the set. There are with mast sets working in this humid climate, low insulation breakdowns which are difficult and expensive to repair. There are renewals of valves. With the usual set there is an aerial and lead-in to erect and maintain. The current consumption on an A.C. set, too, is not negligible; if you have a battery set the charges for battery replacements are often higher.

HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO GET A RADIO FREE FROM ALL THESE WORRIES AND EXPENSE AND HAVE A RECEIVER INSTALLED FOR YOU IN YOUR OWN HOME WHICH WOULD REPRODUCE THE LOCAL STATION PERFECTLY AT A TOTAL COST TO YOU OF $4.00 PER MONTH? AND A GOVERNMENT LICENCE AT $10.00 PER ANNUM.

This is a proposition the HONG KONG TELEPHONE CO. is making.

"Hush Hush" Picture?

SCRIPT LOCKED UP

The mystery of Charlie Chaplin's picture, now in the making, is still being carefully preserved.

There is more in this than the eccentricity of a Garbo or tho desire to arouse populat curiosity. In the past Chaplin's pictures have taken anything from 18 months to. two years to make, and by the time they were finished some of the ideas had long since been stolen by other producers and used on the

screen.

This time Chaplin is taking no risks (anys the Daily Telegraph.) The script-the first ho has ever used, the other stories having been gbet bit by bit, or, as the trade says, "off the cuff" is locked up in the company's vault cach night, and even the title has kept a secret. The only official information is that on the studio's schedule:—,
