|HUNDERED YEARS OF ROYAL WEDDINGS

(Continued from Page 6.)

King's only daughter., Princess Mary, to Lord Lascelles in West- minster Abbey. It was the first wedding of any of the King's children, and as such it excited even more feverish public intercat than any other royal wedding of the century.

very*

Princess Mary made Д beautiful bride, and many present commented on her striking ke- ness at the altar to her mother, the Queen, when she had been a bride herself almost thirty years before. The honeymoon (of the royal couple was spent in Shrop- shire and Italy.

The following year. London had another opportunity to chear a royal bridal couple when the Duke of York led the lovely Scottish Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon to the altar at Westminster Abbey. How the Duke wooed and won the charming daughter of the Earl and, Countess of Strathmore made a romantic story dear to the hearts of the people.
