The Lord Mayor's Show in Lon- don went off in heavy and Insistent rain, No day for invalids, nudists, or sandal-wearers. A good day for publicans, and getting umbrellas sharply in the eye. However, there were plenty of crowds and in Lon- don's very own show we saw once again the pomp and pageantry and tradition of the ages. There were many in those crowds which went to the City to see the new Lord Mayor, Sir Stephen Killik, and his procession, who waited for hours and hours in the rain. Mothers and children there were standing on the pavements of Cheapside, children who with or without leave, were having a hollday and intended to make the most of it.
