OPEN MEN'S DOUBLES MATCH RESULTS

Shameen, Doc, 8.

A most interesting match in the semi-final of the Shameen Lawn Tennis Club open men's doubles was played yesterday afternoon on the Club courts when H. Phillips and P.lt.S. Walsham were opposed to C. E. Watson and G. Bodiker.

The sols were keenly confested throughout, and until he tired in the third set, H. Phillips, the Bri- tish Consul-General, was playing the best game of the four, showing form which a few years ago wan good enough to win the Hong Doubles in Shanghal.

Dodiker and Watson did not settle down to their game for some time and lost the first set at 5/7 and were 1/5 in the second set before, by dint of hard playing and good placements, they drew up to six all, then taking the next two games to win 8/6. The third and fourth sets were keenly contested with Bodiker and Watson taking the initiative most of the time eventually winning the match 5/7, 8/6, 7/6, 6/2. They will now meet C. A. Wright and Don Monroe in the final-Our Own Correspondent..

GRADIDGE'S

SQUASH RACKETS.

There are three essentials for the perfect squash racket:~~-~ (1) Great strength of shaft to take hard knocks on the

wall, etc.

(2) The racket shaft must be light to give the correct

balance....

(3) The area of gut being so small there is only vary

little "give," therefore, it is necessary to got "LIFE" in the shaft to get the feel and correct timing.

GRADIDGE'S
