Dr. Karl Barth, Professor of Evangelical Theology at the Bonn University, one of the foremost leaders in the fight against Reichs- bishop Mueller, was suspended by order of the Releh Minister for Culture to-day.

The reason for Dr. Barth's mus- pension was stated to be that he rofused to swear the prescribed ; oath of allegiance to Herr Hitler.

Disciplinary proceedings have been opened against Dr. Barth with a view to securing his dis-. missal-Reuter Special.
