TWO VIEWS
ON WOMAN
SPECIES ALL ITS OWN
TRADITION'S FETTERS
By Mre. H. A. L. Fisher
"Women," by Winifred Holtby. and "Women
Civilised in the State," by John Prealfind, are two nevi and extremely modern, books, an ancient, each concerned with hard-work, and well worn theme which nevertheless appears to be perennially fresh and eternally stimulating.
Why does the publie want books about woman7, Why are we such Kood copy? Do we long to read About ourselves? Or is all this out-pouring due to the insatiable curiosity of the human male? No one writes about him. Man as title usually means ΠΟΣ only males but also females, and al generally guarded by an adjective Auch as Primitive or Medieval. It is all very bewildering.
