MILITARY TATTOO BIG SUCCESS

Spectacular Show At

Sookunpoo

Opening in dramatic fashion with a anivo of guna and a' fanfare of trumpets, the Grand Tattoo staged by the military forces at Sookumpoo Inat night was carried through in perfect manner, the display being worthy of the best traditions of the Army.

A large and distinguished gather- ing included H.E. the G.O.C., Major General O. C. Borrett, c.H., C.M.G C.FLR, 180, who attended with Abbott, his wile, and Capt. J. J. A.D.C., and a party of friends.

Sookunpoo presented a specta cular appearance with its green Award representing the arena for martial

conflicts; its pavilion over- topped by a medinoval castle and frowned upon by a skilful repre- sentation of the City of Moscow.

Throughout

programme

the soldiers in the costumes of long-past periods bore banners and trumpets into the mimic fray while the stir- ring music of massed banda made striking contrast to the
