MACAO RACE MEETING
EXCELLENT PROGRAMME TOTE
FOR SUNDAY
CAPTAIN FOSTER'S REVIEW
(By "Captain Foster")
TURNOVER
|£500,000 MORE THAN
LAST YEAR
.
The turnover of totalinators for Sunday next promises to produce one of the best Race Meet-this year passed the £4,000,000 inga held at Macao. The card consits of six events and fields in thark on September 28th, according nearly all of the races will be well over the average, particularly to an announcement made by the in the Polo Scurry, the Tang Shan Handicap, the Tain Shan Handicap (Second Section) and the Ladies' sprint. Furthermore
-- I expect to see some closs finishes,'
Weather indications are most f vourable, and I therefore expect so a large crowd making the ip to the Portuguese Colony. The iting at this time of the year inkes a pleasant change, and should
most enjoyable,
To those intending to make, the rip to Macao, i would say that the Taishan"-a regular Hongkong/ anton Lino steamer-has been pecially placed on the Macao run at Sunday. She will leave the ustomary Wharf at West Point at 80 a.m., departing from Macno t 5.30 p.m. sane day. This teamer is most comfortable In very respect, and the food on oard is all that one can wish for.
THE POLO SCURRY.
The Moeling opens with the Polo Scurry over half a mile, and the inish promises to be a good one. Backers should concentrate on Bay f Calamity Dairen-Stlekymust- The Loafer-and Winchester Stag. Thead are fast sprinters and should make a close rhce of it. I um, howover, Inclinett to support Stickypast who will be ridden by Captain Jordan.
Perhaps Mr. Butler's mount, Kung or Salome,
hould also be considered.
For the Tang Shan Handicap, E. Expect to see at least seven starters, The Carp-Delightful Chance and Hell for Leather should fight out the finish between them. Dellght- ful Chance is my pick for a win.
The smallest field of the after-1 noon will muster for the Fat Shanj Handicap as I can only see five starters, atentees beling West Parade and William Oalet. The onles at the weight-appear to bo a level lot, and an interesting ruce should result. I favour Pacing Pluck, but Betis and Gold Currency, not to mention What A Chance are all capable of putting up a strong challenge for suprema..
KEEN STRUGGLE.
I am going to rely on Boxing Eve-If he makes the trip-to win the Tain Shan Handicap (First) Section) and in his absence my votex goes to Partnership! A keen struggle between Sarabande and Stickypast should be witnessed for the third pince.-
