(Continued from Page 1.)
All the man had to do was to shave and the women to comb their hair, On this occasion there were no bathing slips or shorts, all the members boing completely nude.
The conforenco contiqued in fitful sunshine throughout the day. By lunchtime a cool breeze was blowing, and some of the nudists were obviously feeling that conditions were on the chilly alde.
GROWING CULT.
it would be a great exaggeration to say that this movement has reached any substantial proper. tions in Britain, but there is no doubt that it is slowly galning adherenta in the South, and a fair number of London business or professional men now make # habit of taking their wives and families to sun-bathing centres at the week-endia, whore, outdoor re- creations and swimming are in- dulged in with a minimum of clothing, or, as seems to be the Increasing practice, no clothing at all.
So far as can be ascertained, the strictest propriety is observed by all the societies now engaged in the movement, and the only obstacle to convorting the average man-in-the-street would appear to be the difficulty of persuading him that all the high fences, member- ship cards, and elaborate mystery surrounding nudism are really лссеsaurу for his health when in the country or at the const he can, in a backless bathing costume or some other abbreviated attire. enjoy practically the same free- dom for sun-bathing or aport at much less trouble to himself and everybody oino.
