Tokyo, Sept. 22.

The typhoon which raged over Japan yesterday has taken almost 1,000 lives, according to official reports, and the casualties may grow greater..

A list covering eighteen prefectures affected by the typhoon was issued by the Home Ministry to-day and shows that up to 11 o'clock last night the total of the killed was 943, injured 3,738 and missing 503.

Osaka has suffered most terribly. are known to have been lost, 3,058 are of them seriously, and 488 are missing. feared, a number are dead.
