COTTON REGAINS THE BELGIAN TITLE.

Padgham Disqualified For Starting Late

Waterloo (Brussels), Aug, 15. Henry Cotton, the British open golf champion, added to his laurels yesterday by winning the Belgian Open championship. His score for the four rounds of 18 holen was 279. The runner-up WA& another Engllahman, Porcy Allies, of Beaconsfold, with 282. Ho was followed by Augusto Boyer, of France, the holder, with 288, Arthur Havors, of Sandy Lodge, returned 200 and Mark Seymour, of Crow Wood, the Scot- tish champion, and 292.

Cotton was three strokes behind the lender, Percy Allina, of Beaconsfield, at the end of the third round, and although not his usual confident self, he did 'n fine sixty-eight-three under par--on his final round, to regain the title ho won three years ago."

At the end of the third round in the morning, A. II. Padgham, of Bundridge Park, the British Ryder Cup player, was disqualified for storting Inte. He had dono a brilliant round of 68, which gave him second place three strokes behind Allies, but his disqualif- cation cancelled this. He mistook his starting time. It should have been 9.15, but he misread the "1" for a "4" and went on the teo to start at 0.40 a.m. Padgham was bitterly disappointed but realised It was his own fault.
