AMATEUR PHOTO EXHIBITION

"Telegraph" Entries Now

On View

Without question the finest ex- hibition of amateur photographs ever shown in Hongkong is at pre- sent.on display in the Morning Post Building It comprises the whole of the cutries in the Tele- graph Amateur Photographic Com- petition for 1934, in which fewer than 1,180 entries were re- celved.

Thla Competition has now been run for four years, and each year has witnessed a stendy advance both in the number and quality of the exhibits. In the first Com- petition, there were only about" 500 entries, of which many were stan- hardly up to competition

dard. This year, one difficulty which the Judges experienced was to reward all deserving of recognition. competition being so keen amongst the really first- class pictures.

A fenture was the number of ontries from places outside Hong- kong, but it la noteworthy that all tho prizes were secured by Hong- kong compelliers, only one outside entry, one of several from Sin- gapore, being commended.
