DROPPING OF VOCE CAUSES OUTBURST BY A. W. CARR
"Would Have

The sensational “resting” of Voce in the Australians second innings at Nottingham last month brought forth a demnatory statement by A. W. Carr, and an interesting planation of the M.C.C.'s posi tion from Sir Stanley Jackion. St. Louis Cardinals won again and Pittsburgh Pirates beat Boston Braves. Cleveland Indians fell victims to Boaton.
The explanation given was that, with Larwood unable to bowl, it was folt that further strain Voco's soro abins might deprive Notts of his ser vices in the remaining matches, and an a decisive result with the Aus- tralians was unlikely it would be bet- ter not to run further risks.
VOCE'S COMMENT.
When he did not appear barrackets ahouted: "Where is Voce?" and later in the day when Woodfull led his men out to field there were catcally und

Voco watched the match from the pavilion and was obviously upset. He said: "I knew there would be trouble; perhaps I should not have played at all."
