The mother of Michael Pino and one of the little lad's former playmates were called to-day as new witnesses for the Crown in the nullah murder re-trial at the Criminal Sessions this morning before the Chief Justice, Mr. A. D. A. MacGregor.

The ̈ caso is one in which Nr Lol-yuen, a 38 year old Swatow Chines, da charged with the murdor of little Michael Pine by

throwing him into a nullah.

The Special Jury empanelled spent nearly an hour and a half examining the scene of the alleg- ed crime before the Court sat, The Chief Justice, counsel, police, and prisoner were also present,
