CYCLING - THRILLS

Club Enjoy Another Successful Outing

There was a slightly lower attend- anco on the Sunday run of the long- kong Cycling Club, under Mr. E. Munna, vice-Captain, which was scheduled to reach Castle Peak for re- freshments and bathing shortly after noon. Several members having made arrangements to ride out direct to the rendezvous after timn, the morning party decided to reach the Cafeteria later than the time originally set, and therefore the lender made for Talpo and Fanling at a brisk pace. At the latter place a puncturo pro- vided excuse for refreshments, and gave time for a more leisurely inspec- tion of the light and shade effects produced by a few small clouds on the local hills. A suggestion was made on resuming the run that the border road should be traversed and accord- ingly the party wended their way through Sheungshul to that less fre- quented route. The - subsequent scramble along the side of the Canton- Kowloon Railway and the carriage of the machines over a bridge by the method of stopping from sleeper to sleeper with nothing else, between eyellat and water provided many thrills and much merriment.

The re- turn to the Circuit was made at Dill's Corner (near Santin) and the remain- ing few milos to the Cafeteria wa made at # atendy pace, A time; schedule of the spin showed the riders to have mado Talpo in 1 hours, with Fanling half-an-hour later (inclusive of repair of puncture); the Cafeteria was renched after the border detour nt 2 p.m. after four hours' riding,

The afternoon section did not put in an appearance until after 4.30 p.m., und after refreshments had been en- joyed the whole Club adjourned to the beach to indulge in swimming and Hun-bathing. Another cup of tea was enjoyed on returning to the Cafeteria and the wheelmen then resumed the homeward trip at 6.40 p.m. A strong pace was established by the leader which brought the party without fur- ther mishaps or halts to Shamshulpo at 6.50 p.m.

The Hon. Secretary, Mr. II. G. Crayford, is proceeding on a health cruise, and during his absence the duties of Secretary will devolve on Mr. II. A. G. Koaves, n-A-8.C., Welling- ton Barracks.

It should also be noted that the Club Headquarters are now sitanted in 23, Taipo Road, Shamshulpo, where room has been made available for members by the Captain, Mr. C. Read, who has removed from Ne: 7 Fuk Wing Street.
