It was alleged that the accused Bet fire to a large factory in the Ural district, housing extensive machine-making plant.

The motive behind the crime, it was alleged at the trial, was to Beeure orders for a foreign firm. A foreign expert employed at the factory was stated to have issued the instructions-Reuter.
