With the departure of Frank Hadley for the United. States, the swimming championship of Shanghai is more open this season than it has ever been before.

The championships will be con-entries. Raven has a number of ducted this year by the Amateur records to his credit, but has Swimming Association in three dropped out of competitive swim- Galas, one at the Rowing Club ming for several years and will batha, one at the Foreign Y baths find it difficult to regain his past and the third at the French Club.
