Tlie Play West's opening lend was the king of diamonds. He then shifted to a trump and East won with the ace, returning a trump, -which-Schwartz-in-the-South; won with the nine. West dis- carded a heart.

A small club. was led, which West won with his ace. West then led the ace of diamonds, which dropped-hla partner's queen and Schwartz ruffed with the jack of spades.

The declarer then led a small club and ruffed in dummy with the ten of spades. A small heart! was played and East's singleton king dropped. This marked Weat with the jack, so Schwartz cashed his king and queen of spades. West discarded two diamonds, as dld dummy.
