At the previous hearing of the case, Revenue Offcer it was stated by firimmitt that the Post Office launch was alongside the steamer Hupeh dis charging malis on July 13, when man, Cheng Kom, WAS arrested allempting to cross the launch into A sampan. A basket in his possession rovealed opium. At the time it was seen that the baskets contained four on more packets of oplum, but, when the man was charged with the posses- sion of three packets of oplum later, ho nindo a alatement to the effect that the bag had originally contained four packets. The Rovenue Officers again boarded the launch, and one packet, containing 22 teels of raw opium, was found

on the bridge underneath a mall dog. Tho swain, Chan Pul, and Leung Tal-yau, were taken into custody. Chan. Pui, was discharged last Friday.
