MURDER CHARGE

KOWLOON DEFENDANT COMMITTED FOR TRIAL

Charged with the murder of a Chinese woman, Wong Sze-mui, on June 6, a Chinese, Cheung Chak, was committed to trial at the next Criminal Sessious by Mr. Wynne- Jones at the Kowloon Magistracy yesterday afternoon.

Mr. W. J. Lockhart Smith, Aanis- tant Crown Solicitor, prosecuted, assisted by Inspector A. J. W. Dorling, who was in charge of in- vestigations.

At yesterday's hearing of the case, evidenco was given by Wong Muk-lin, a recruit at the Police Training School, who arrested de- fendant after he had rushed out of No. 1 Wong Cheuk Street where, it is alleged, he stabbed Chu Sze with a scissor blade.

Inspector Charles Poyntz Kaya evidence that at 1.50 p.m. on June 6, he was called into the charge room at Shamshuipo Police-station where he saw defendant and other witnesses. Chu Sze made a com- plaint that defendant had stabbed her.

The defendant, from the dock, denied all knowledge of the crime and said that he was hurrying back to work on the afternoon of June G when he was arrested.

Ho was committed for trial at the next. Criminal Sessions at the Supreme Court.
