Rotterdam, July 11... The spirit of revolt which flared up in Amsterdam as a result of the cuts in un- employment grants, has now developed in Rotterdam.
Violent scenes were witnessed in working-class districts of the city to-night, notably in one sector of the town.
Residents of the Crooswyk quarter opened fire on the police from their windows to-night and the police returned the fire.
An old woman of seventy was among those hit.
