Applications, which must be aerompanjed by a deposit of $25 per cunt,, will be received at the Office of either of the two Banks above mentioned. In the case of partial allotment the balance of the amount paid on application wht be applied towards payment of the balance due. If there should a surplus after making that payment such surplus will be refunded by cheque. If no allotment is made the full amount paid on application will be refunded.
Interest at 45% per annum will be chargert on any balance outstanding after 10th July, 1934, and payment of the balance by that, date may render the deposit previously paid able to forfeiture and the allotment cancelled.
At a infer date allotters will receive honds with interest coupons attached for the amounts zo | allotted in exchange for the receipted application and allotment letters.
The proceeds of this issue will be utilised to repay to the Treasury certain moneys advanced from the surplus balances of the Colony for the carrying out of various public works, and further to provide the balance of funds required for the redemption of the Hong Kong, 35% Inscribed Stock

The public debt of the Colony fo-day ammonts to $4,838,000 in 477 bonds (edemption Loan 1937) repayable at par in 1960 and £1,485,783 in sterling Inscribed stock 1918/43 which will be repaid on the 18th October of this year.
