Loudon, May 31.
The powerful magnet of the Derby is certain to draw an enormous crowd to Epsom next week, with interest intensified by the doubts that have been ex- pressed about Colombo, still a raging hot favourite and still accepted as the best horse bred in England for generations.
The interest is growing daily and the announcement of the final acceptances to-day has brought race followers almost to fever heat.
The extraordinary thing about Colombo is that he has not been backed very heavily. The reasons, mainly, are that few backers are tempted to lay bets nt odds of 7/4 at this stage particularly, his Two Thousand Guineas win was not achieved so easily na expected.
