London, May 24,

Hampshire's county cricket ground at Southampton to-day was the scene of the most sensational cricket since the arrival of the Australian Test team in England this year.

In the course of the day's play, Australia lost her three leading stock batsmen-Wood- full, Brown and Bradman for two runs, yet at the close of play had put 428 runs on the board for the loss of nine wickets.

Several surprising proposals were submitted and discussed at the conference of representatives of the Football League, held in Liverpool recently, it is revealed by the report only just issued. Although no definite action was taken, many of the proposals were interesting and worthy of much consideration.
