CAR LICENCE OFFENCES
LOCAL MOTORIST CAUTIONED
T. M. V. Deva, driver of privato car No. 3000, was cautioned on two summonses for not having fall control of his car in Queen's Rond East, and, being the possessor of a learner's licence only, not being accompanied by a licensed driver, by Mr. Hamilton, at the Central Magistracy this morning.
Traße Sergeant Clark said de- fendant was driving a small two- seater car, and there were three grown-up people in it. The man who was seated, next to defendant had an expired licence.
Explaining the circumstances. Dovn sald the supposed licensed driver who accompanied him hud been driving cars almost daily, and was a man of some meane and status. He accordingly suspected nothing against him, and asked him to accompany him. He asked for his licence, and when it was produced, did
not scrutinise H, as he did not doubt it.
On the question of not having full control, Deva said that one of his friends was sented in the back sant, but it came on to rain, and he had to accommodate him In front.
