The draw for the open singles championship has brought together some of the strongest players in the Colony, the most interesting tie being that be- tween R. F. Luz and U. M. Omar. Both these players have won the title before, the former in 1929 and the later in 1923. Last year Luz was runner-up to A. Hyde Lay.

The singles championship has a total of 93 cont petitors, the name of B. E. Maughan being omitted from the orginally published list. The first round will provide 29 matches while 35 players have drawn byes, Unlike former years there will be a separate draw for cach round.
