A shooting incident aboard the river-steamer Fatshan while on aj trip from Canton to Hongkong on April 12, had a sequel in the Cen- |tral Magistracy this morning, when Serwan Singh, police guard No. 145, was charged with wounding Rhakar Singh, police guard No. 584, with intent to murder.
Detective Sub - Inspector O'Donovan, for the prosecution, Applied for a week's formal re- mand, which was granted. The charge was explained to the de- fendant, but no plea was returned. Rhakar Singh, it is recalled, was shot in the chest about 7.30 p.m. The two guards had apparently been on friendly terms, but n quarrel over a gambling debt la sald to have been the cause of the incident. The Injured man was taken to the Government Civil Hospital on arrival of the Fatahan at the Tung On Wharf.
