PORTSMOUTHBADLY IN NEED OF POINTS
RANGERS AFTER THE DOUBLE
(By "The Pilgrim"?
Whilst Derby and Tottenham are definitely eliminated from the Championship of the First Divi- sion, the result is still somewhat in doubt, for if Hud- dersfield can make the best of their remaining op. portunities and garnor the full eight points they have a definite chance of ousting the Londoners at the finish.
Admittedly the hope is not great especially as the Highbury Club are touching the highest form they have shown yet this season. They have a lead of four points with only four matches to be played off but they may meet with one or two reverses which will lessen the gap.
The most interesting game will be their last fixture, with Chelsea on the Stamford Bridge ground.
