Throughout this competition Hedley, has shown himself not only a player of some Ane strokes, but he goes out for his shots in exhilarating fashion. That is, indeed, somewhat of a handicap to him at present, and experience will, no doubt, tench him later to temper his brilliance with discretion.

Leonardo Gavin, Jr., smashed his way into the Anals of the national open tennis championship by decl- sively defeating Guillermo Aragon in three straight sets, 6-1, 6-2, 6-2 in one of the semi-final matches yeaterday at the Long Laan courts. Using his affective service to ad- vantage yesterday, Gavin had the match well under control a8 3. Aragon failed to break through. In the first net, Gavla made quick work out of Aragon, allowing his one. game. The opponent but Tonde lad proceeded to slaughter the older Aragon in the next rets with his lightning service and force overhead smashes, copping them in grand style.
