NAVY TEAM OVERCOMES WORCESTERS IN RETURN MATCH
Shanghai, Apr. 7. H.M.S. Berwick's soccer XI avenged the cruiser's boxing defeat by beating the Worcester Regiment team yesterday at the Stadium ground by the odd goal in seven. The match was a heavy struggle between two equally clever sides, the Berwicks reducing the points through the efforts of their goalkeeper, Funier, whose outstanding play in the second half was a pleasure to watch. The saves he brought off were seemingly impossible,' the custodian several times throwing himself full length on the ball.
Ambrose and Jenkins supported | corner, the custodian well and were also deterrents in some of the Army's dangerous attacks.

With the Navy lending 3-1, the Worcesters garnered another goal through by Malin, who after
nice strong movement of the forwarda bent Ambrose easily.
After the Interval it appeared that the Navy was resting on its laurels as it seemed to be partl- cular slow in all departments, allowing the soldiers to rob easily.

BERWICK BEATEN AT BOXING
THRILLING FIGHTS FINISH IN FAVOUR OF WORCESTERS
SHANGHAI ENJOY ENTERTAINMENT
Shanghai, Apr. 6.
One of the finest exhibitions of boxing seen in Shanghai for months was staged at the Union Jack Club last night when amateurs from the Worcesters and H. M. S. Berwick met in an inter-service tourney, out of, which the soldiers emerged with one victory to the nine bouts staged.
Both teams should be congratulated not only for the fine standard of boxing, but also for the excellent spirit of sportsmanship which prevailed throughout.
An interesting card was closed with the most exciting bout of the evening between two welterweights, Maher of the Wor cesters defeating Taylor, of the Berwick. Both men were bleed- ing from cuts at the end of the fight, the result of which was in doubt until the Judges gave their decision, and both men ended still fighting fast and furiously.
