Solution to Previous Contract Problem

We all hate to let our opponents Cash their good tricks. We don't

mind throwing them in and letting

them cash one trick, if necessary, to execute a nice end play, but few players even will think of let ting their opponents in to ensh two or three good tricks.

However, that is just what An- drew J. Carran of Cloveland had to do in to-day's hand to make his contract of three no trump. If he bad taken the diamond finesse, his contract would have been de- feated. By watching the drop of the cards, he gained a perfect rending on the hand.

The Play

South's natural opening against three no trump was the king of hearts, which Carran, the declar er, refused to win. South con tinued with the queen, East win- ning with the nee.
