BRITISH TRADE PROGRESS

SUBSTANTIAL RISE IN EXPORTS

London, Mar. 14. The Board of Trado returns for February shows a substantial rise

in

exports as compared with February of last year, and, allow Ing for the shorter working month, they represent only a modorate do- eline on the export, figuros of January, 1934.-

Imports for last month amounted to £63,868,079, compared with 204,- 671,822 in the previous month and $49,074,659 in Feburary, 1933.

Exports Inst month amounted to £30,060,000, compared with 201- 603,000 in January and £27,928,000 in February, 1933. Re-exports last month totalled 25,210,000 as com pared with £4,073,000 in January and with £4,483,000 in February, 1933.

An expansion in imports of raw material, mainly cotton and wool, and an inercase in exports of Bri ого са tish manufactured goods couraging features of last month's returna.British Wireless.

CREDIT FOR RUSSIA' SWEDEN GUARANTEES PURCHASES

Stockholm, Mar. 14.

An agreement has been conclud. ed between Sweden and Russin whereby credits totalling 100,000,- 000 kroner have been placed at the disposal of Russia, against the pur chase of Swedish goods.

Manufacturers will be paid in Swedish currency by the Gavern. ment, which will receive Soviet bonds against deliveries. Reuter.
