BRAZILIAN PROTEST

IMMIGRATION OF ASSYRIANS

THE INVASION OF JAPANESE

(Special to "Telegraph")

By Telegraph. Copyright, Telegraphio Alco- magen Dedinance, SAPL Received March 12. IR.NU. 11. mad

Rio de Janeiro, Mar, 12. Agitation is growing in Brazil | regarding the Government's general immigration policy, with special criticism of the increns- ing Japanese population and the proposal to permit the Assyrians to settle in Brazil.

Further debates on the respec- tive merits of Japanese

and Assyrian Immigration are expected before the Constituent Assembly closes its session.

At the moment, however, the campagin of the objectors has not! achieved a great deal and there is no indication of any legislation

likely to affect immigration at the present time.

Various organisations are active, nevertheless, and resolutions have been passed in Wo de Janeiro and at Parana protesting against the proposed settlement of ten thousand Assyrians, for which a League of Nations Committee is now in Rio making the necessary arrangements-United Press.

Patul injuries were enused to Cho Kwni-cheung, 21, who was knocked down in Prince Edward Road, Kow- |loon, yesterday by a bus, He died, shortly after nimission to hospital.
