RAZACK AND CASSUMBHOY MAKE
A GOOD RECOVERY
-. (By “Veritas"), ·
If Cassumbhoy had not allowed excitement to get the better of him, he and Razack would have won a set from the Rumjahn cousins when they met in the third round of the doubles tennis championship yesterday. But the experience of wiping off a 4-1 deficit and leading 5-4 and 40-15 proved too much for Cassumbhoy who made three awful mistakes which permitted the champions to recover lost ground and finally to run out winners 6-4, 7-5. The tennis was some of the brightest seen to date in the

It was in the tenth game that Cassumbhoy faltered. On his service the losers went to 40-15, then Cassumbhoy muffed an easy shot at the net, served a double fault, and again made a mistake in timing a drop shot. After this it was easy for the cousins, who had no hesitation in driving home their advantage against a confused couple.
In taking the first act to four the Rumjahns fairly outplayed their] opponents. H. D. volleyed with unerring accuracy, and the losers were kept falrly in the defensive. Sirdar took rather longer than usual to get going, and never had time to realise his best,
After going into a three-love lend in the second ast there was suggestion about the champions play of casing up. Certainly they lost control, and for the next six games had to pay the piper whilst Razack and Cassumbhoy called the tune.
But whatever the cause, it gave rise to the best tennis of thei afternoon.
