It is with the deepest regret that we have to chronicle the death of Mr. Robert Gordon Shewan, head of the well-known firm of Shewan, Tomes and Co., which occurred under tragic cir cumstances yesterday morning, when he fell from the window of No. 2, Conduit Road, where he was staying, receiving injuries to which he quickly succumbed.

Immediately the mishap became} known, Mr. Shewan was rushed to the Government Civil Hospital, but he had already passed away before arrival thera. He was 75 years _of_age_

The funeral takes place this evening, passing the Monument at 5.30 p.m. By request, there will be no flowera.
