A mishap in which a Chinese constable was knocked down by a motor-car driven by Mr. C. E. Holmes, of Messrs. Dodwell and Co., is mentioned in to-day's list issued by the Traffic Office in con- nexion with the "Safety First" campaign.

Mr. Holmes, was driving car No. 2009 from Bonham Road up Park Road at about 1 a.m. yesterday when a Chinese constable suddenly Mr. appeared on the roadway. Holmes swerved right to avoid the man, but was unable to avold striking and knocking him down. He stopped and found the wheel had passed over the constable's foot. The constable did not give his name or number and refused to go to station or hospital. The con- stable reported the accident three hours later at the Upper Level Police Station and was sent to the Government Civil Hospital,
